I actually like the writing of the Elfman scene with Seilah. I don't know exactly how it is written in the manga but in the anime Seilah gives Elfman a choice to either blow up the guild or watch Lisanna die at his own hands then the scene we next see him is when he walks into the guild all gloomy so it makes you question is Elfman choosing to do this out of fear or is Seilah just using her macro curse? Because in their encounter should could've just explained what the lacrima does and force him to do it anyway while holding Lisanna hostage.

I feel like you guys overlooked a lot about Minerva. She is comically evil, but that works for her character and her story. We learn that Minerva is the Sabertooth guild master's daughter and we seen how ruthless and cruel he was along with his philosophy so it makes sense why she's like because she learned it from her father plus later in the series they go a lot more in depth about Minerva's upbringing. Also, her not killing Lector doesn't show she has some type of humanity. Keeping him alive is even worse because she manipulated sting to fight for her since he was starting to see his guild in a different light after what he saw happened to Lector after Lector's comment. Considering she witnessed her dad get murdered killing her bait wouldn't be smart since Sting would have lost his motivation being there since the guild master tried harming his friend.
